For the core waterproof, flame-retardant, and UV-resistant treatments, manufacturers use a double-coating technology: a solvent-free waterproof coating is evenly applied to both the inner and outer layers of the fabric, which, after high-temperature curing, forms a dense protective film capable of withstanding heavy rain pressure tests; simultaneously, flame retardants and UV-resistant additives are impregnated, enabling the product to meet NFPA 701 flame retardant standards and UPF 50+ sun protection ratings. “Our fabrics also undergo anti-mold and antibacterial treatment,” said the quality control manager at Tourle tent. “Through simulated mold cultivation tests in humid environments, we ensure that the tents will not grow algae or mold during long-term outdoor use, extending their lifespan.”

After functional finishing, the fabrics enter the post-processing stage. Intelligent cutting machines precisely cut the fabrics according to the design drawings, with errors controlled to the millimeter level. In the sewing workshop, workers use a double-stitched reinforcement process to sew the tent seams, and key areas undergo heat-sealing to eliminate the risk of leakage. The production of the tent frame is equally rigorous; wooden poles are treated for corrosion and insect resistance, while aluminum and galvanized poles undergo heat treatment to enhance their toughness.

After assembly, each sailcloth tent undergoes a “static setup test”: complete assembly and disassembly are performed on simulated terrain to verify the compatibility of accessories and ease of operation; subsequently, a structural stability test is conducted, using wind tunnel tests to simulate different wind directions and speeds to ensure that the tents will not deform or collapse under extreme weather conditions.
The finished tents enter the final quality inspection stage, with testing items covering three main categories: physical performance, functional performance, and safety and environmental protection. Quality inspectors used a material strength testing machine to test the fabric's tear strength, a rain test device to check its waterproof performance, and a weathering resistance test chamber to simulate product stability under high and low temperature environments.
